As a team, the Celtics shot 48 percent from the field and 18 of 53 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 34 points in the first quarter to take an 11-point lead into halftime. Before they absolutely dominated the fourth quarter by 35-12 to finally get their first win of the season.

  • Dean Wade is one of only 22 qualified Centers in the league shooting at least 30% from three this season.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Celtics rank 30th in the league for opponent offensive rebounds per game this season (15.3).
  • The Celtics rank 1st in the league for opponent field goal percentage this season (39.9%).
  • The Cavaliers rank T2nd in the league for H1 win percentage this season (75.0%).
  • The Cavaliers rank T28th in the league for offensive rebounds per game this season (8.8).

Celtics vs Cavaliers Prediction

The Cavaliers are still missing Max Strus, Darius Garland and now Sam Merrill, while the Celtics have decided to list Jaylen Brown as probable despite his hamstring niggle. The Cavaliers look to be building nicely with three wins on the trot and they were dominant in their big win over the Pistons. Meanwhile, the Celtics were able to avoid a fourth straight defeat with an easy win over the Pelicans.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Celtics pulled off the upset at home, but the Cavaliers are certainly playing better at this early stage of the season, and I think they get the job done at the short line.

Randy Chambers's Pick: Cleveland -4.5
