Chicago Bulls Betting Preview

The Chicago Bulls won 39 games last season and enter the fifth year under coach Billy Donovan. The Bulls have missed the playoffs in 7 of the last 9 seasons. Outside of adding Josh Giddey, the Bulls didn’t make enough splashes to change the direction of the franchise. Zach LaVine is still on the roster despite being in trade rumors constantly. Lonzo Ball looks healthier and could return at some point, which would be huge. Coby White has come into his own and is a respectable starting guard, while Nikola Vucevic continues to be a walking double double at 34 years old. Ayo Dosunmu is coming off his best season yet, which is encouraging.

Still, the Bulls have been a middle of the road to bad team for much of the last decade, and this roster doesn’t look like it will be the turning point.

Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers won 48 games last season and enter the Kenny Atkinson era. The Cavs have an intriguing starting five with Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. There’s also upside with that group, given the youth in some of those players. Caris LeVert and Isaac Okra are also decent bench options. At times last year the Cavs looked like a legit NBA Finals contender, and they had moments in a playoff series against the Celtics. It doesn’t feel like the Cavaliers are that far away from making a push toward something special.

It looks like the Cavaliers have finally figured things out post LeBron James. The Cavs have won 44 or more games in 7 of the last 10 seasons.

You can make a case for the Chicago Bulls and the free points because they do have more question marks roster wise, which creates open playing time and more competition in games like this. However, the Cavaliers are just a better team from top to bottom, and that has to be the deciding factor. Even if the starters don’t get a ton of playing time, the Cavs still have the bodies in their second unit and back of the roster to step up. I can’t say the same for the Bulls. I’ll lay the bucket with the Cavs.
