Charlotte Hornets Betting Preview
The Charlotte Hornets will be aiming for a second straight win after making light work of the rebuilding Nets in a 136-117 home win on Wednesday night. Brandon Miller led the team in scoring with 25 points and seven assists, LaMelo Ball added 20 points with eight assists, Miles Bridges tallied 18 points with 11 rebounds and four assists while Collin Sexton chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Hornets shot 53 percent from the field and 17 of 36 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Nets from the start and exploded for 77 points in the first half to open up a 22-point lead which was more than enough to hold off the Nets who made a bit of a run in the second half.
Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers are in similar shape as they too will be gunning for a second straight victory after outlasting the Celtics in a 117-116 road win on Wednesday. Tyrese Maxey drained seven 3-pointers to lead the team with 40 points and six assists on 13 of 24 shooting, VJ Edgecombe added 34 points with seven rebounds and three assists while Dominick Barlow chipped in with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 45 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they blew an early lead and looked to be in deep trouble when they trailed by 13 points in the fourth quarter before they rallied behind Maxey to run down the Celtics with time to spare in the end.
Charlotte v Philadelphia Free Prediction
The Hornets should have full roster for this game with no player listed on the injury report, while the 76ers have already ruled out Paul George, Trendon Watford, Justin Edwards and Jared McCain. The Hornets looked great in their season opener, albeit against a lottery-bound team in the Nets, while the 76ers will be full of confidence after taking down the Celtics in a solid comeback win in their last outing. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hornets are able to build some momentum with a minor upset win on the road in this spot, but I feel the line is just short enough for me to stick with the 76ers to get the win behind another big game from Maxey who was fantastic against a shorthanded Celtics squad.
