The Brooklyn Nets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 15 of their last 18 games overall, but they will be feeling much better after they snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 109-99 road win over the Jazz on Friday. Egor Demin led the team with 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, Cam Thomas added 21 points off the bench while Day’Ron Sharpe chipped in with 16 points and nine rebounds. As a team, the Nets shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 40 from the 3-point line as they squandered a 14-point lead in the second quarter and found themselves in a real close contest all the way until they opened the fourth quarter on a crucial 8-0 run to allow them to pull away and secure the much needed victory following a tough stretch.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been on a tear as they’ve won 10 of their last 13 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the Warriors in a 131-124 road win on Friday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 29 points and 11 assists on 11 of 19 shooting, Jalen Duren added 21 points with 13 rebounds while Tobias Harris and Duncan Robinson each scored 15 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 48 percent from the field and 10 of 26 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running with 45 points in the first quarter to take a 13-point lead into halftime and they were able to extend the lead to 20 points in the third quarter which was more than enough to survive a late rally from the Warriors who cut the lead to just four points at one stage.

The Nets are still shorthanded with Haywood Highsmith, Ziaire Williams and Noah Clowney all out, while the Pistons are keeping an eye on Caris LeVert who is questionable with an illness. The Nets were ice-cold before they took down the slumping Jazz in their last outing, so it comes as no surprise that they were massive underdogs against the red-hot Pistons who are 18-5 at home this season. These teams have already met once this season with the Pistons winning by 125-107 back on Nov 7 and I am expecting a similar result in this one with the Pistons getting the win and cover at home.
