The Boston Celtics have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their last six games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after outlasting the Clippers in a 121-118 home win on Sunday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 33 points, 13 rebounds and three assists on 14 of 33 shooting, Payton Pritchard added 30 points on 10 of 16 shooting while Derrick White chipped in with 22 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 45 percent from the field and 16 of 39 from the 3-point line as they controlled tempo early and dominated the first half to take a 24-point lead, before they barely survived a late rally from the Clippers who cut the lead to just one point with 2.6 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 11 of their first 13 games of the season, but they will be feeling much better after they snapped a four-game slide with a 129-106 road win over the Wizards on Sunday. Michael Porter Jr led the team with 34 points, nine rebounds and seven assists on 11 of 18 shooting, Tyrese Martin added 20 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench while Nic Claxton chipped in with 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Nets shot 53 percent from the field and 17 of 41 from the 3-point line as they poured in 35 points in the second quarter to take the lead into halftime, before they opened the fourth quarter on a 14-4 run to put the game to bed early.

The Celtics are still missing Jayson Tatum, while the Nets have ruled out Cam Thomas and Haywood Highsmith once again. The Nets were able to get a long overdue win in their last outing, but it’s hard to get too excited about beating the Wizards these days and they’ve been ice-cold otherwise. In contrast, the Celtics are starting to heat up, they are relatively healthy and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their narrow win over the Clippers on Sunday. Maybe the Nets hang around in the first half, but the Celtics should have little trouble getting the win and cover in the end.
