The Detroit Pistons invade the Smoothie King Center to take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. Here’s a Detroit Pistons vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction. This article will include a Detroit Pistons vs New Orleans Pelicans Pick.
Detroit Pistons Betting Preview
The Detroit Pistons have been in a rut as they've lost four of their last six games overall. They will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling just short to the Thunder in a 113-107 home defeat on Saturday. Tobias Harris led the team with 18 points, Dennis Schroder provided the spark off the bench with 17 points and 11 assists while Malik Beasley chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 47 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line as they took the fight to the Thunder in a really close contest. Until the Thunder opened the third quarter on a pivotal 11-2 run to pull ahead and take a 16-point lead. The Pistons did show plenty of fight to cut the deficit to just one point with 4:16 remaining but Cade Cunningham just had an off night as he shot just five of 18 from the field and zero of four from the 3-point line. The Pistons will take on the Heat after this game.
New Orleans Pelicans Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been in a real slump as they've lost six of their last seven games overall. They will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting beaten by the depleted Spurs in a 119-115 road defeat on Saturday. CJ McCollum led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists, Trey Murphy added 20 points, Bruce Brown scored 19 points with six assists while Karlo Matkovic chipped in with 12 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Pelicans shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they took the fight to the Spurs to tie up the scores going into halftime. They were starting to take control with a seven-point lead midway through the third quarter before the Spurs flipped the script with a 17-0 run to lead the rest of the way.

- Five of the Pistons' last six road games against Southwest Division opponents have gone UNDER the total points line.
Detroit Pistons vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction
The Pistons are coming in with a full squad minus Jaden Ivey once again, while the Pelicans are keeping an eye on Zion Williamson, who is still listed as day-to-day due to personal reasons. The Pistons come into this meeting as the clear favorites despite being the road team, and I think it's warranted given how cold the Pelicans have been lately and the fact that Williamson could sit out again. The Pelicans weren't able to get it done against a depleted Spurs squad in their last outing. I don't give them much of a chance in this one against the elite defense of the Pistons, who were more than competitive against the surging Thunder in their last game.
