The New Orleans Pelicans invade the FedExForum to do battle with the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.
The New Orleans Pelicans have been in a bit of a rut lately as they’ve lost five of their last nine games and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after losing to the Pistons in a 123-112 road loss on Sunday. Zion Williamson led the team with 26 points on 10 of 20 shooting, Brandon Ingram added 26 points with seven assists while Steven Adams and Lonzo Ball each scored 13 points. AS a team, the Pelicans shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 35 from the 3-point line as they jumped out to a quick start with 40 points in the first quarter to lead by as many as 13 points early, before getting outplayed the rest of the way as the Pistons outscored them in every quarter to win easily. Eric Bledsoe had a night to forget as he finished with just six points on one of nine shooting from the field.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in a bit of a slump lately as they’ve lost five of their past seven games, but they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the Kings in a 124-110 road win on Sunday. Jonas Valanciunas led the team with 25 points and 13 rebounds on 11 of 14 shooting, Dillon Brooks added 22 points, Kyle Anderson scored 17 points on six of nine shooting while Ja Morant chipped in with 16 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Grizzlies shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and nine of 21 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the tipoff, pouring in 99 points in the first three quarters to lead by as many as 24 points.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pelicans are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a loss. The Grizzlies are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a win of more than 10 points and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-2 in the last eight meetings overall and the Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Pelicans have been inconsistent this season and their confidence must’ve taken a hit from their loss to the slumping Pistons on Sunday, while the Grizzlies will be looking to build some momentum after their dominant win over the Kings. Williamson has really picked up his production lately, but that hasn’t exactly translated into wins and they haven’t been a good road team as they are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games. With that being said, the Grizzlies haven’t been much better but they’re trending upwards and I think they can get the win at home in this one.
