Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview
The Dodgers charged out of the gate this year, taking sweeps in sets over the Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, and Atlanta Braves before a series loss versus the Phillies. Los Angeles fell in two of three to both the Washington Nationals and Cubs, then swept the Rockies. The Dodgers took out the Rangers in the next series, lost in two against the Cubs, and then got a victory in a set over the Pirates. After sweeping the Marlins, LA beat the Braves Friday and Saturday but lost the finale 4-3. In Monday’s opener, the Dodgers managed a 7-4 victory thanks to 13 team hits in a nice offensive display.
In the Tuesday matchup, LA fought back from a couple of deficits during the game but ended up falling in the end, 5-4 after 10 innings. Starter Tony Gonsolin lasted 5.0 frames with two earned runs on four hits and two walks.
As a starter for the Wednesday finale, the Dodgers didn’t immediately announce a name.
Miami Marlins Betting Preview
Over on the Marlins’ side, they took out the Pittsburgh Pirates in their first set of the season before two series defeats against the New York Mets, surrounding a split with the Braves. Miami would then beat the Nationals in a series, then fall in a sweep by the Diamondbacks prior to a series loss to the Phillies. The Marlins beat the Reds in two of three games, then lost a series versus the Mariners before a sweep by the Dodgers. The Marlins split their first two games with the Oakland A’s, then lost the Sunday finale. On Monday, Miami notched 10 team hits and had three runs in the eighth inning, but it wasn’t enough.
In the Tuesday game, the Marlins scored twice in both the fifth and sixth innings on the way to 11 team hits. Cal Quantrill went 5.0 innings as a starter with one earned run on four hits and a walk.
It’ll be Valente Bellozo in the starter slot for the Marlins on Wednesday. This year, Bellozo is 0-2 with a 4.97 ERA in three starts over 12.2 innings. Bellozo is 3-6 with a 3.87 ERA in 16 starts over 81.1 innings in his career.

Dodgers vs Marlins Prediction
It might be worth taking a value stab on the Marlins, but Bellozo does need a good bounce-back effort. In his last start, Bellozo took a loss versus the A’s with five earned runs on four hits and four walks in 4.2 innings. In his previous two starts, however, Bellozo managed two earned in 8.0 innings on nine hits and four walks. Trouble is, he hasn’t been able to record a win yet. Bellozo will need some help from his teammates in this one.
The Marlins used five different arms out of the bullpen in order to help out Quantrill, but it was worth it to get that tight win. Pulling off another victory Wednesday is going to be a tall order, but if Bellozo can start things off on a high note, there’s always a chance.
