The Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox meet on Thursday in MLB action at the Rate Field. Here’s a Los Angeles Angels vs Chicago White Sox Prediction. This article will include a Los Angeles Angels vs Chicago White Sox Pick.
Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Angels lost 99 games last season and haven’t made the playoffs since 2014. Let’s not forget this is the same Angels franchise that had Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and a third baseman who was making 250 million dollars, and they didn’t come close to the postseason. The Angels are a joke, and there’s no other way to put it. At this point, it’s waiting to see if Trout sticks around in this hellhole. I don’t hate the addition of Jorge Soler, and mixing in Yusei Kikuchi and Kyle Hendricks in the rotation doesn’t hurt. Still, the Angels are the Angels until further notice. A franchise that can’t get out of its own way and where talent goes to die. The Angels will face the Cardinals in the series after this one.
Yusei Kikuchi gets the ball for the Angels, and he was 9-10 with a 4.05 ERA and 206 strikeouts last season. Kikuchi is 2-2 with a 4.85 ERA and 29 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox.
Chicago White Sox Betting Preview
The Chicago White Sox lost 121 games last season and have lost a combined 222 games in the last two seasons. That’s really all that needs to be said. It’s fair to question if the White Sox are an MLB team at this stage. Luis Robert Jr. is legit and in the thick of his prime, but his trade value is as high as it’s ever been, so he probably won’t stick around for long. Andrew Vaughn is a respectable first baseman, and Miguel Vargas is probably better than what he’s shown through his first three seasons. Still, first-year manager Will Venable has his work cut out for him, as this team is dreadful on paper, and we have the last two years to prove it. The White Sox will meet the Twins and Tigers following this series.
Sean Burke gets the ball for the White Sox, and he was 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 22 strikeouts last season. This will be Burke’s first career game against the Angels.

- The White Sox have covered the run line in seven of their last eight games as underdogs against AL West opponents.
- The White Sox have led after 5 innings in five of their last six day games.
Why the Los Angeles Angels will win

Los Angeles Angels vs Chicago White Sox Prediction
If you couldn’t tell by the write-up, I’m not thrilled with either of these teams and am not excited to get involved. There are better ways to spend opening day, folks. With that said, somebody has to win, and backing the White Sox isn’t an option. While the Angels have wasted Hall-of-Fame careers, the White Sox are the worst team in baseball, and it’s probably not close. Burke is also a young pitcher with just 19 innings under his belt, so who knows how he will handle opening day? If the Angels are going to have anything close to a successful season, they must take advantage of games like this. I’ll lay the juice with the Angels on opening day.
