The San Francisco Giants will send out Blake Snell for the start here and Snell is 2-3 with a 3.67 ERA and 101 strikeouts this season. In his career, Snell is 2-1 with a 0.81 ERA and 24 strikeouts against the Mariners. George Kirby will start for the Mariners here and Kirby is 9-9 with a 3.40 ERA and 148 strikeouts this season. San Francisco Giants Recap
The San Francisco Giants come into this one looking to keep the momentum going after starting the series strong against the Mariners on Friday. The Giants are trying to build on their series win over the White Sox to start the week.
Giants Looking To Crash NL Playoff Race
Going into Friday’s opener, Thairo Estrada has 74 hits along with 9 home runs and 45 RBIs while also chipping in 14 doubles. Michael Conforto has 80 hits with 13 home runs, 23 doubles and 51 RBIs while Matt Chapman has 116 hits of his own alongside 31 doubles with 20 homers, 62 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. Chapman also has the dubious distinction of leading the Giants with 131 strikeouts this season. Heliot Ramos has 18 home runs and 60 RBIs as well this year.
Seattle Mariners Recap
The Seattle Mariners are in dire need of a positive result from this series after slumping over the last month, including series losses at the hands of the Dodgers, Pirates and Tigers in the last week and a half.
Mariners Trying To Stay Alive In AL Playoff Hunt, But Fading Fast
Entering Friday’s action, Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 109 hits including a .260 batting average and also has 11 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 27 home runs along with 78 RBIs and 141 strikeouts. Mitch Haniger also has 12 home runs and 44 RBIs while Rodriguez has 18 stolen bases and 122 strikeouts as well this season. Dylan Moore has 19 doubles with 23 stolen bases and Josh Rojas has 16 doubles also this season.
Giants vs. Mariners Prediction
I’m on the under here. I just see Blake Snell and George Kirby and my mind immediately shifts towards a pitcher’s duel. Kirby’s pitched his best ball at home at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile, and Snell is on another level in a lot of his recent outings. All in all, this feels like a first to 3 wins kind of game, so give me the under here.
