In their last series the Cardinals took on the Kansas City Royals. St. Louis managed an 8-5 win Friday but then fell 8-3 in the Saturday finale. In the loss the Cardinals got a pretty good start from Andre Pallante (5.2 innings; one earned) but the bullpen faltered behind him.

Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
I’ll try the Cardinals here. Gray finished off July with five earned in 5.0 innings versus the Nationals but since then he’s been pretty solid. In his last pair Gray is 1-0 with four earned in 14.0 total frames. As for Abbott, he’s given up 12 earned over his last 13.0 innings across three losses.
St. Louis didn’t play particularly well on Saturday but the good news is that they’ve been scoring well lately. The Cardinals have three or more runs in five straight games, going 3-2 in that time. So long as Gray can start things off well St. Louis should have a good shot here.
