The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets square off Friday in MLB action from Citi Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s an Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Atlanta Braves will send out Charlie Morton and Morton is 5-5 with a 3.92 ERA and 101 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against the Mets, Morton is 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA and 31 strikeouts. Kodai Senga will make his season debut for the Mets here and was 12-7 with a 2.98 ERA last season. This will be Senga’s second career start against the Braves.
Atlanta Braves Recap
The Atlanta Braves come into this one looking to bounce back after starting the series with a 3-2 loss in extra innings to the Mets on Thursday, putting the Braves behind the 8-ball early as they’re looking for their first series win since the all-star break after series losses to the Cardinals and Reds.

Marcell Ozuna leads the Braves with 114 hits including 28 home runs and 80 RBIs while Orlando Arcia has 18 doubles and Ozzie Albies has a team-high 28 doubles, logging 93 hits as well this season. Braves vs. Mets Prediction
I’m on the Braves here. I think Atlanta probably wins the opener had it not been for that horrendous baserunning in the later stages of Thursday’s loss and this is a Braves team that had a bunch of chances late but couldn’t cash in. I think the lineups cancel out, and I can’t imagine Senga having a heavy workload in his season debut, which could mean an extended outing for this brutal Mets bullpen. All in all, I think the Braves exact some revenge here so give me Atlanta.
