Nebraska vs Illinois Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Illinois but you could probably call this one either way. It’ll be a great matchup that determines one team’s bowl eligibility. The Illini posted a plucky road win against Maryland last weekend, notching 407 total yards and 20 first downs. Defensively Illinois held the Terrapins to 6-of-14 on third downs with a couple of takeaways. The Illini have now won three straight games, two of them by three points or fewer.
As for Nebraska, they had three interceptions thrown and eight penalties for 74 yards in their loss to Washington. The Huskers kept shooting themselves in the foot every time they were about to get something going. The defense was pretty good though, surrendering just 267 yards and 5-of-15 on third downs. It’s going to be tough for the Illini to contend with a team that’s given up fewer than 21 points in three straight games (but still lost all three).
