Mississippi State Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Bulldogs are doing pretty well so far this year, with just one blemish on the card. Mississippi State opened up the season on a nice 4-0 run, taking out Louisiana-Monroe, Minnesota, South Carolina and Missouri in rapid succession. The Bulldogs’ first loss of the year came at home versus Alabama though, giving the team a 4-1 record this season.
In the Alabama game back on October 3, the Bulldogs gave up four touchdowns in the first half and headed to the locker room down 28-17. Things only got worse in the third with a couple more Tide touchdowns, and Mississippi State eventually fell 56-23. QB Kamario Taylor was 19-of-34 for 258 yards, three scores and two interceptions in the losing effort.
LSU Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the LSU side, they opened up the year with a pair of outsized wins. The Tigers blew out Clemson 51-10 in the opener then beat Louisiana Tech 45-14 ahead of a 32-24 loss to Ole Miss in game three. LSU was able to bounce back with wins over Texas A&M and McNeese State in the next pair though, giving the team a 4-1 run through the first five outings.
Matched up against Kentucky last weekend, the Tigers battled back and forth over the entire game. LSU had a 27-27 tie at the end of regulation, then notched an overtime TD to go up 34-27. After a Kentucky score and two-point conversion however, LSU lost 35-34. QB Sam Leavitt was 25-of-34 for 275 yards, two scores and an interception in the loss.

Mississippi State vs LSU Prediction
I’m going to take a stab on Mississippi State but you could call this one either way. The Bulldogs met their match against a good Alabama team in their last outing, posting four turnovers and just 7-of-17 on third-down tries. Mississippi State gave up 22 first downs, 483 total yards and 6-of-9 on third-down tries defensively. Prior to that, the Bulldogs had scored 31 or more points in all four games (all wins).
As for LSU, they’re coming off a rough upset loss versus Kentucky. The Tigers had a couple of turnovers in that one while adding 410 total yards, 26 first downs and 7-of-13 on third-down tries. LSU has been scoring well this year, though; they’ve got 24 or more points in every outing.
