The Lumberjacks shot 42.6 percent from the field and just 3-of-13 (23.1 percent) from outside in that defeat along with a 28-24 rebounding deficit. The Mavericks got to the line 25 times (making 20) to SFA’s eight though, which was really the major difference in the loss. The Lumberjacks have been below 64 points in each of their last two games, so it’d be nice to see a 70-plus total in this one.

As for UTRGV, they’ve been off the court for a while (November 24) and last appeared in a double-digit loss to Illinois. Outside of the tepid 39.7 percent shooting and the 44-28 deficit in the paint however, the Vaqueros didn’t look too bad in that one, all things considered. UTRGV has given up 74 or more points in three of the last four games (losing all three), so SFA should have some room to score here.
