UConn Huskies Betting Preview
UConn had a couple of spotty runs during the regular season, but overall the team posted a solid record. The Huskies went 12-3 in their first 15 games, then lost to Villanova, Creighton and Xavier in the next five outings. A 4-3 run came next featuring wins over DePaul, Marquette, Creighton and Villanova, then wins over Georgeotwn, Providence, Marquette and Seton Hall to finish off the regular season. After a win over Villanova in the conference tournament, UConn fell to Creighton. Folowing a win over Oklahoma in the First Round of the national tourney this week, the Huskies now have a 24-10 overall record though 34 games so far.
In the matchup with Oklahoma on Friday, the Huskies were up by six points going into the second half. UConn kept it going in the second with a 35-33 run and took the win in the end 67-59. Leading the team in scoring was Solo Ball with 14 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes of action. Alex Karaban added 13 points with seven boards as well.
Florida Gators Betting Preview
Over on the Florida side, they’ve looked great pretty much all year with only a few scattered losses here and there. The Gators plowed through their first 13 games unscathed, then fell to Kentucky and Missouri in the next four. After wins over Texas, South Carolina and Georgia, the Gators lost to Tennessee ahead of a six-game win streak. Florida would lose to Georgia on February 25, but since then it’s been a win streak over Texas A&M, Alabama, Ole Miss, Missouri, Alabama again, Tennessee and Norfolk State during a conference tournament championship run and a First Round victory. That gives Florida a 31-4 record so far this year.
In the Norfolk State matchup on Friday, the Gators were ahead 53-32 going into the second half. Florida didn’t let up from there, notching a 42-37 run on the way to a 95-69 win in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Walter Clayton with 23 points and five rebounds, while Alex Condon added 12 points with five boards, three assists and two steals. Thomas Haugh led the bench scoring on 13 points and four assists, while Alijah Martin chipped in 17 points.

UConn vs Florida Prediction
I’m staying with Florida. The Gators have been quite impressive during this win streak, and they’re coming off a dominant win over Norfolk State. In that one Florida shot a nice 48.3 percent from the field with a 41-28 rebounding edge, 20 team assists and 27-of-33 (81.8 percent) from the line. The lone blemish was the 12 turnovers, resulting in 14 Spartans points. Norfolk State has won seven straight games, hitting their stride with 86 or more points in each.
As for UConn, they tamped down Oklahoma’s offense in their win this week, giving up just 32.1 percent shooting from the field and posting a 41-34 rebounding advantage. The Huskies are 6-1 in their last seven games, with 72 or more points in each victory. UConn will serve as a stout test for Florida here if the Huskies play well. That said, I like the Gators to power it out in the end and continue their excellent run.
