Brandon Williams also finished in double-digits for the Bruins with 11 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes of action during the victory.

California Golden Bears Betting Preview

Over on the California side, they’ve also got just one blemish on the card thus far. The Golden Bears kicked things off with three straight wins, taking out Cal State Bakersfield, Wright State and Cal State Fullerton. Cal took their first loss 99-96 to a pretty good Kansas State team, but then followed up with wins over Presbyterian and Sacramento State from there. The result so far has been a similar 5-1 record for the Golden Bears through six games this season.

Matched up against Sac State in their latest outing on Friday, the Bears were up 47-33 by the break. California hit a 44-34 run the rest of the way in a 91-67 win in the end. Chris Bell put up 21 points with two assists, while both Dai Dai Ames and Justin Pippen had 16 points with four rebounds each—plus a combined nine assists. John Camden chipped in 14 points with five boards and five assists as well.

I’ll lean toward UCLA, but you could probably call this one either way. The Bruins demolished an overmatched Presbyterian squad in their last outing, shooting 62.7 percent from the field and 6-of-12 from 3-point range. UCLA owned the paint 50-28 along with 29 rebounds and a decent 11 turnovers. The Bruins have looked pretty good this year offensively with 74 or more points in all five victories.

As for Cal, they rolled past Sacramento State in their last game with 50.8 percent shooting from the field and a 32-20 advantage on points in the paint. The Bears hit just 10-of-19 (52.6 percent) from the line, but that was just about the only thing to complain about. Cal has scored quite well themselves this year with 77 or more points in five of six outings, so we could very well have a big total in this matchup.
