Texas Longhorns Betting Preview
The Longhorns’ season began with a solid 4-1 run, then came a 3-3 stretch with wins over Chaminade, NC State and Southern alongside losses to Arizona State, Virginia and UConn. Texas has since beaten Le Moyne and Maryland Eastern Shore ahead of two more losses to Mississippi State and Tennessee. That gives the Longhorns a 9-6 overall record in the books over 15 games.
In the Tennessee matchup on Tuesday, the Longhorns entered the second half with a 48-33 deficit. Texas got better from there on a 38-37 advantage but it wasn’t nearly enough for the comeback in an 85-71 loss. Tramon Mark was the top team scorer with 20 points and five rebounds while Camden Heide had 16 points with four boards. Simeon Wilcher added 10 points in 26 minutes as well.
Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview
Over on the Alabama side, they opened the season on a shaky 3-2 run with losses to Purdue and Gonzaga. An 8-1 run came next as the Tide took out UNLV, Maryland, Clemson, UTSA, South Florida, Kennesaw State, Yale and Kentucky. After another loss to Vanderbilt this week, the Crimson Tide are now sitting on an 11-4 overall run across the first 15 games of the season so far.
Matched up against Vanderbilt on Wednesday, the Tide held a 43-43 tie going into the second half. Alabama was outscored 53-47 the rest of the way however, leading to a 96-90 defeat on the road. Amari Allen led the way in the losing effort with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Aden Holloway added 22 points with two rebounds. Labaron Philon had 18 points in 20 minutes.

- Texas has lost the first half in each of its last three games against the Southeastern Conference.
Texas vs Alabama Prediction
I’ll lean toward Alabama. The Tide need a solid bounce-back effort after their road loss to a great Vanderbilt team this week, and this is a good spot to get it. Alabama shot just 37.1 percent from the field and 22.5 percent (9-of-40) from outside in that one alongside 13 turnovers. The good news however, is that the Tide had a 44-37 rebounding edge and did pretty well in the paint. Alabama is scoring great this year; they’ve hit 75 or more points in every game and they’re 8-2 in their last 10 overall with losses to only Arizona and Vanderbilt.
As for Texas, they shot just 38.6 percent from the field against Tennessee while giving up 52.7 percent shooting on the other side. The Longhorns were outmuscled on the board 35-24 and in the paint 44-18 while coughing up 16 turnovers in a pretty sloppy game. Texas has lost four of their last seven games and they’re in for another tough matchup on the road here.
