Over on the Seminoles’ side, they’ve got six games in the books so far—and just one blemish on the card. Florida State opened with consecutive wins over Alcon State and Alabama State, then took a tough two-point loss to Florida. Since then however, the Seminoles have been on a three-game win streak versus Georgia Southern, Tennessee-Martin and Cal State Bakersfield. In total that gives FSU a 5-1 run across their first half dozen games this year.

Matched up against Cal State Bakersfield in Tuesday’s outing, the Seminoles jumped out to an 11-point halftime lead. Florida State continued the onslaught on a 54-35 second-half run and took the win 89-59 in the end. Chauncey Wiggins led the team on 17 points with six rebounds, and Robert McCray added 14 points with four assists. Alex Steen doubled up on 13 points with 10 rebounds in the winning effort over 19 minutes.

I’ll lean toward Florida State. You could probably call this one either way, though; it’ll be a good matchup and a fun one to watch. In any case, the Seminoles rolled right past CSU Bakersfield in their latest outing, shooting 44.6 percent from the field with 23-of-29 (79.3 percent) from the line and a 42-34 edge in the paint. That said, FSU was out-rebounded 37-35 and coughed up 17 turnovers along the way so there’s plenty to clean up. The Seminoles have scored quite well this year with 76 or more points in every game and 87 or more points in every win.

As for Texas A&M, they shot 50 percent from the field with a nice 42-of-50 (84 percent) from the line in their latest win over MS Valley State. The Aggies got out-rebounded as well though (31-26) and had 13 turnovers in an otherwise sterling effort. FSU will be a difficult matchup for Teas A&M though, so they’ll need to be on point.
