Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Betting Preview
This year the Lumberjacks have taken four losses in nine games versus Drake, Arkansas, Presbyterian, and UTRGV. The wins otherwise have been over Dallas, LeTourneau, Monmouth, Youngstown State and LA-Monroe.
In the UTRGV game on Thursday, the Lumberjacks were within two points 24-22 at the break. Stephen F. Austin was outscored 44-43 from there and lost 68-65, however. Keon Thompson came off the bench to lead the team with 20 points and four assists.

Over on the Texas A&M-CC side, they’ve taken losses to Purdue, New Mexico, New Mexico State, and Lamar. Otherwise, the Islanders have beaten Dallas Christian, TN-Martin, Le Moyne, Texas Lutheran, and Prairie View A&M.
Matched up with Lamar in Thursday’s game, the Islanders were looking up at a 42-33 deficit by halftime. Texas A&M-CC scored just 19 points from there in a 65-61 loss. The only one on the team in double-figures was Garry Clark with 14 points and five rebounds.

Stephen F. Austin vs Texas A&M-CC Prediction
I’ll probably lean toward Stephen F. Austin. Both these teams are coming off losses though, and each could use a good showing here. The Lumberjacks out-rebounded UTRGV 39-33 and held the opposition to just 38.9 percent shooting in their last outing—but it wasn’t enough. SFA’s 14 turnovers led to 22 Vaqueros points, so ball control will be key in this one. The good news is that Stephen F. Austin has held opponents below 69 points in every game so far.
As for Texas A&M-CC, they snapped a four-game win streak with a pretty limp performance against a middling Lamar team in their last outing. The Islanders can score when the matchup is right, though; they’ve got 81 or more points in seven of their last eight outings. The Lumberjacks are going to have to get moving on the scoreboard quickly, but I think a good performance on the road is well within reach if all goes well.
