Saint Joseph’s Hawks Betting Preview
The Hawks limped to a 2-3 run over their first five games this year, then beat Rutgers-Camden, Princeton, Temple and Coppin State in the next four. Saint Joseph’s hit a 2-4 stretch after that with wins over Delaware State and Arcadia, then won five of the next six. Those wins came versus Duquesne, Richmond, St. Bonaventure, Dayton and Loyola Chicago, giving the Hawks a 13-8 run so far this year.
Back on Tuesday versus Loyola, Saint Joseph’s jumped out to a dominant lead 51-24 by the end of the first half. The Hawks put it in cruise control from there on a 40-34 second half and took the blowout victory on the road 85-64. Austin Williford doubled up on 17 points with 10 rebounds, and Jaiden Glover-Toscano had 16 points with three assists and five rebounds in the win.
La Salle Explorers Betting Preview
Over on the La Salle side, they hit an ugly 4-6 run in their first 10 games this year. The next five outings were all losses as the Explorers dropped versus Long Island U, High Point, Michigan, George Mason and George Washington. A 3-2 run ensued over the five games after that, with wins over Rhode Island, Saint Bonaventure and Dayton. Over 20 games that would give La Salle a 7-13 run.
Matched up against Fordham on Wednesday the Explorers were in control at the start of the second half, looking up at a 34-32 edge on the scoreboard. La Salle faltered from there on a 32-24 deficit however, eventually falling 64-58. Jerome Brewer finished as the leading team scorer on 21 points and seven rebounds while Rob Dockery added 14 points with nine rebounds and five assists.

Saint Joseph’s vs La Salle Prediction
I might take a stab on La Salle here. The Explorers need a significant bounce-back effort following their road loss to Fordham this week, though. La Salle shot just 33.9 percent from the field and 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from outside with a 37-29 rebounding deficit but did pretty well at the line (14-of-18 for 77.8 percent) and had a 28-24 edge in the paint. The Explorers are still 2-1 in their last three games though, and could contend here with a strong outing.
As for Saint Joseph’s, they didn’t have any issues whatsoever with a struggling Loyola team in their latest road win, hitting 56.3 percent from the field with a 35-30 rebounding edge and a 50-24 advantage on points in the paint. Saint Joseph’s has won five of the last six games, scoring a combined 166 points in the last pair. La Salle is going to have to hit the gas on offense in order to keep pace here, but I think it’s doable in relative terms.
