The Lancers really needed the win, as they’d been sitting on a three-game losing streak (all on the road) that started on December 29 versus Utah Valley.
As for Southern Utah, they shot a tepid 41.7 percent from the field in the loss to Utah Valley, giving up 54.5 percent shooting on defense. The Thunderbirds were out-rebounded 45-27 and outscored 56-26 in the paint as well. It wasn’t a great-looking outing. Southern Utah has lost six straight games now, but they’ve hit 69 or more points in four of those.
