Purdue Boilermakers Betting Preview
Purdue has been rolling so far this season, and they’re yet to record a blemish on their card. The Boilermakers kicked things off with a win over Evansville, then beat Oakland ahead of a seven-point victory over Alabama. Next came wins over Akron and Memphis, then a blowout victory versus Texas Tech. After their latest blowout win versus Eastern Illinois, Purdue now has a spotless 7-0 run across their first seven games this year.
In the Eastern Illinois matchup on Friday, the Boilermakers came into the second half with a commanding lead 53-29. Purdue kept it up from there on a 56-34 run and took the win 109-62. Daniel Jacobsen led the way on 24 points with nine rebounds, while Fletcher Loyer had 24 points and nine boards. Trey Kaufman-Renn chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds and two assists in the winning effort for the Boilermakers as well.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Knights’ side, they started out the year on a nice run but it’s been a rough ride since. Rutgers took wins in their first four over Rider, Maine, Lehigh and American in succession. Three losses came next though, as the Knights fell versus Central Connecticut State, Tennessee and Notre Dame. Following another win over UNLV in their last outing the Knights are now 5-3 in their first eight games of the year.
Matched up against UNLV on Thanksgiving, the Scarlet Knights came out of halftime looking at a 39-33 deficit. Rutgers came alive in the second half on a 47-26 run however, leading to a comeback win 80-65. Emmanuel Ogbole doubled up in the victory with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Dylan Grant had 17 points and eight boards. Darren Buchanan added 15 points with four rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes of work for the Knights.

Purdue vs Rutgers Prediction
I’ll stay with Purdue. The Boilermakers have been quite impressive so far this year, and they’re coming off another dominant victory versus Eastern Illinois. In that lopsided affair, Purdue shot a stellar 63.1 percent from the field and 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the line alongside a 37-17 rebounding edge and a 58-26 advantage in the paint. The Boilermakers had a whopping 28 team assists but did get into double-digits (barely) with 10 turnovers. That gives Purdue 80 or more points in every game this season.
As for Rutgers, they get credit for a great second-half comeback against a struggling but decent UNLV team. The Knights shot 42.1 percent from the field in that one but hit only four of their 16 attempts from outside (25 percent). Still, the 41 rebounds and just nine turnovers helped buoy the victory. Rutgers had been below 64 points in three straight losses prior to that effort though, and they’ll have a difficult time of things Tuesday as well.
