North Florida Ospreys Betting Preview
The Ospreys have been a mixed bag in the record column so far this year, but they’ve managed to stay above the .500 mark overall. North Florida went 7-4 over their first 11 outings, taking wins over South Carolina, Charleston Southern, Georgia Tech, Edward Waters, SIU Edwardsville, Warner University, and UNC Greensboro in that time. After a losing streak versus UNC Asheville, Florida, Austin Peay, Lipscomb, and Eastern Kentucky, the Ospreys have since gone 6-3 over their last nine outings. North Florida lost to North Alabama, West Georgia, and Florida Gulf Coast at that time. Otherwise, it was wins over Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Queens U, Stetson, Jacksonville, and Bellarmine again in succession. That gives the Ospreys a 13-12 overall run across their first 25 games so far this season.Â
In the Florida Gulf Coast matchup at home over the weekend, the Ospreys exited the first half with a rough 44-25 deficit. North Florida got a bit better from there on a 45-40 second half but eventually took the loss 84-70. Jasai Miles led the starters on 16 points with four rebounds and two assists. Liam Murphy came off the bench for 20 points with four rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes, while Josh Harris chipped in 13 points with eight rebounds in 28 minutes.Â
North Alabama Lions Betting Preview
Over on the North Alabama side, they were pretty choppy over their first nine outings but they’ve been doing better since early December record-wise. The Lions went just 5-4 in those first outings, beating Air Force, Point University, Tennessee-Martin, LA Monroe, and Dalton State in that time. North Alabama hit a 6-3 run over the next nine outings with wins over Tennessee Tech, East Carolina, Charleston Southern, Bellarmine, Eastern Kentucky, and Stetson among losses to Loyola Marymount, Florida Gulf Coast, and Jacksonville. It’s been a 6-1 run since then with a lone loss to Queens University. Otherwise, the Lions have dispatched Lipscomb, North Florida, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Austin Peay again and West Georgia, giving North Alabama a 17-8 overall record so far this year through 25 games.Â
In the West Georgia road matchup on Saturday, the Lions held a 35-24 advantage through the first half. North Alabama closed on a 43-37 run and took the victory 43-37 in the end. Will Soucie led the team with 17 points and three rebounds. Jacari Lane added 14 points with five rebounds and five assists, while Cornelius Williams doubled up on 12 points with 19 boards.Â

North Florida vs North Alabama PredictionÂ
I’m staying with North Alabama. The Lions rolled right past a struggling West Georgia team in their last outing, hitting 45.2 percent from the field while holding the opposition to just 37.7 percent on the other side. The 45-38 rebounding edge helped, as did the nice five-turnover total. North Alabama has won three straight games now, hitting 74 or more points in each of those.Â
These teams last saw each other back on January 18 in a 90-84 road win for the Lions. North Alabama shot a nice 55.6 percent from the field in that one with 36 rebounds, 20 team assists and just six total turnovers. Provided the Lions can keep the mistakes to a minimum here as well, they shouldn’t have too many issues.Â
