Stony Brook was outscored 32-24 the rest of the way but still managed to hang on for the win on the road 72-68. Both Rob Brown (two rebounds) and Andrej Shoshkikj (eight rebounds; four assists) led the way with 17 points apiece.

I’ll lean toward Stony Brook. That said, this should be a pretty good matchup. The Seawolves slowed down quite a bit in the second half of their road win over Elon last weekend, eventually shooting just 36.1 percent from the field with a 32-14 deficit on points in the paint and 13 turnovers. It was still Stony Brook’s fifth straight win though, and they’ve scored 72 or more points in all of those victories.

As for Monmouth, they shot just 38.3 percent from the field and 16.7 percent (3-of-18) from 3-point range in their latest home loss to Hofstra. The Hawks were out-muscled on the boards 34-21 as well. Monmouth has still won three of their last five games, with 81 or more points scored in each of the three wins. We should have a pretty good total here if both teams can stay on point.
