Monmouth Hawks Betting Preview
Monmouth managed to keep their heads above the .500 mark over their first nine games, going 5-4 in that time. The Hawks would then lose four of the next five games to Georgia Tech, Fairfield, Quinnipiac and Campbell, then took out Towson and William & Mary. After losses to Hofstra and Drexel then a win over Northeastern, the Hawks were left with a 9-10 run in their first 19 outings.
On Thursday versus Hampton, Monmouth found themselves trailing at halftime with a 34-30 result in the first. The Hawks got better from there on a 33-31 run but it wasn’t enough in an eventual 65-63 road loss. Andrew Ball led the charge on 19 points with eight rebounds in the losing effort. Jason Rivera-Torres added 12 points with three assists and four rebounds as well.
Campbell Camels Betting Preview
Over on the Campbell side, they managed to stay at .500 through 10 games but they’ve been unable to eclipse that winning percentage since then. The Camels would lose three of the next four games (with a lone win over Green Bay), then hit a 3-3 stretch that featured losses to Hofstra, Elon and UNC Wilmington. In 19 games that would give the Camels a 9-10 record in the books.
Matched up against Charleston on Thursday, Campbell was clinging to a one-point lead 35-34 going into the second half. The Camels were outscored 53-48 the rest of the way however, ultimately falling on the road 87-83. DJ Smith was the leading team scorer with 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Muneer Newton and Tasos Cook added 15 points apiece in the loss as well.

Monmouth vs Campbell Prediction
I’ll stay with Campbell but it’s a coin flip. The Camels didn’t quite have enough gas on offense to keep pace with Charleston (55.6 percent shooting) despite shooting 47 percent from the field themselves. Campbell did have 12 turnovers and got outscored 50-34 in the paint, though. The Camels have now lost three straight games, but they’ve scored 75 or more points in each of those. Still, Campbell has given up 78 or more in each of those as well.
These teams last saw each other back on New Year’s Eve in a 68-65 road win for the Camels. In that one Campbell didn’t shoot well at all (38.5 percent) and had 14 turnovers with a 32-28 deficit in the paint. The Camels did pretty well on the boards and at the line though, which preserved the road win. They’ll need a better effort across the board in the home rematch.
