Marist Red Foxes Betting Preview
Marist opened the season on a nice 7-2 run over their first nine games. The only losses in that time were versus Xavier and Harvard, each by fewer than five points. It’s been a rocky 2-3 run since then though, with losses to Georgia Tech, Quinnipiac and Saint Peter’s among wins over Stony Brook and Iona. That gives Marist a 9-5 overall run across the first 14 games of the season so far.
In the Iona game on Sunday, the Foxes jumped out to a dominant 42-22 advantage by halftime. Marist kept the pressure on from there with a 41-16 run and took the blowout home victory 83-38 in the end. Elijah Lewis posted 14 points with four rebounds and there assists in the victory while Myles Parker had 11 points with three boards. Jason Schofield added 10 points and five boards as well.
Sacred Heart Pioneers Betting Preview
Over on the Sacred Heart side, they managed to go a shaky 5-7 over their first dozen outings of the season. The Pioneers took losses to Duquesne, Villanova, Queens U, Central Connecticut, Penn State, Iona and UMass Lowell in that stretch. Since then it’s been four straight losses to Towson, Merrimack, Niagara and Canisius, giving the Pioneers a 5-11 run over their first 16 games this year.
In the Canisius matchup on Sunday the Pioneers entered the second half with a 41-34 edge. Sacred Heart was outpaced 48-37 the rest of the way however, leading to an 82-78 loss in the end. Tops in scoring was Assa Essamvous with 22 points and five boards. Dashon Gittens put up 15 points with two rebounds and two assists while Jaden Slaughter added 11 points with three boards and three assists.

Marist vs Sacred Heart Prediction
I’ll just stick with Marist here. The Foxes demolished a pretty decent Iona team in their last outing, shooting 45.6 percent from the field while holding the Gaels to just 31.8 percent (and 1-of-14 for 7.1 percent from 3-point range) on the other side. Marist bagged 14 steals off a whopping 24 Iona turnovers and had a 36-22 advantage on points in the paint. It was a nice bounce-back effort after consecutive road losses in which Marist had mustered a combined 117 points.
As for Sacred Heart, they had a bad second half against Canisius in their last outing and ended up surrendering 50 percent shooting from the floor. The Pioneers were outscored 36-26 in the paint and fell victim to a good performance at the line (31-of-37 for 83.8 percent) from the Griffins. Marist is going to be another tricky matchup, and Sacred Heart will have to keep a good rhythm for the whole game if they want to stick around.
