Longwood Lancers Betting Preview
The Lancers opened the year on a 3-4 run through their first seven games, falling versus Pitt, MD Eastern Shore, Columbia and Siena. A 5-3 stretch came over the next eight with losses to American, Delaware State and Wake Forest among wins over Pfeiffer, Maine, Morgan State, NC Central and Averett. That would give the Lancers an 8-7 record in their first 15 games this year.
In their Wednesday game versus Winthrop, the Lancers were up by nine points at the break. Longwood kept it up from there on a 44-41 run and took the win in the end 82-70. Leading the team in scoring was Redd Thompson with 15 points, and Jacoi Hutchinson had 14 points with three assists. Elijah Tucker added 12 points with nine rebounds in the win as well.
High Point Panthers Betting Preview
Over on the High Point side, they opened on a 7-1 run with wins over Furman, Averett, Jacksonville, Canisius, UIC, Incarnate Word and Western Carolina. After losing to Southern Illinois and App State in the next three, High Point beat Mary Baldwin, La Salle, Bryant and Pfeiffer in the next four. That would give the Panthers a 12-3 record in their first 15 outings.
Matched up against UNC Asheville on Wednesday the Panthers were up 49-34 by halftime. High Point hit a 38-35 run the rest of the way and took the win in the end 87-69. Leading the team in scoring was Scotty Washington with 26 points and one rebound. Rob Martin added 14 points with three assists and Terry Anderson had 12 points with five rebounds in the win.

Longwood vs High Point Prediction
I’ll go with High Point. The Panthers didn’t have a ton of issues with UNC Asheville in their last outing, despite getting outscored in the paint 40-38. High Point shot very well in that one with 61.7 percent from the field and 10-of-19 (52.6 percent) from outside. That makes five straight wins for the Panthers, and they’ve scored 84 or more points in each of those outings.
As for Longwood, they shot a nice 51.7 percent from the field in their latest win over Winthrop, along with a 44-30 edge on points in the paint and a 37-31 advantage on the boards. The Lancers have won three straight games themselves now, with 74 or more points in each of those appearances. Longwood will put up a good fight here if they can keep the offense going.
