Kansas State Wildcats Betting Preview
The Wildcats were sitting at .500 back on January 17 (9-9 overall), then got over the hump with a win over Utah. Kansas State then lost to Kansas, West Virginia, Iowa State, TCU, Cincinnati and Houston before another win over Baylor. Since then it’s been losses to Texas Tech, Colorado and TCU ahead of a victory against West Virginia. That makes for a 12-18 record overall this year.
In the West Virginia game on Tuesday the Wildcats were down by three points in the locker room with a 26-23 deficit. Kansas State hit a 42-37 run the rest of the way however, powering out a comeback victory on their home court 65-63 in the end. Khamari McGriff was tops on 18 points with seven rebounds and Nate Johnson added 16 points with nine boards and seven assists.
Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview
Over on the Kansas side, they were 11-5 over the first 16 games this year. Next came wins over Iowa State, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas State, BYU, Texas Tech, Utah and Arizona. Since then it’s been a rough 2-4 run with losses to Iowa State, Cincinnati, Arizona and Arizona State. That makes for a 21-9 record across the first 30 games of the season for the Jayhawks.
Matched up against Arizona State on Tuesday the Jayhawks were coming back out onto the floor after the break with a 40-20 deficit. Kansas got better in the second half with a 40-30 advantage but it wasn’t enough to prevent the double-digit loss on the road 70-60. Tre White posted 16 points with 14 rebounds, Darryn Peterson had 15 points and 10 boards, while Flory Bidunga had 14 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

Kansas State vs Kansas Prediction
I’ll still lean toward Kansas here. The Jayhawks really need a convincing win, though. The Jayhawks shot miserably (29.2 percent) from the field in their latest road loss to Arizona State, adding 16 turnovers for 18 Sun Devils points along the way. Kansas held Arizona State to just 32.2 percent shooting on defense but couldn’t overcome an early deficit. The Jayhawks are just 2-4 in the last six games, but four of those outings were on the road.
Kansas got a win 86-62 on the road the last time these teams saw each other back on January 24. In that one the Jayhawks shot much better (53.4 percent) while holding the Wildcats to just 34.4 percent on defense. Kansas added a 35-28 rebounding edge and just nine turnovers. The line for this one will be fairly thick pretty much everywhere but I think the Jayhawks can pull it off if they play to their capabilities.
