The Tigers had some trouble with Bethune-Cookman in their opener though, and needed overtime to finish off a 95-90 win. Keyshawn Hall led the way on 28 points with five rebounds and KeShawn Murphy added 17 points with eight rebounds and four assists. Sebastian Williams-Adams had 15 points with six rebounds and three assists as well. In game two versus Merrimack, Auburn had an easier time with a 95-57 victory. The Tigers got a double-double from Keyshawn Hall with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Sebastian Williams-Adams added 14 points with five rebounds and five assists.

Auburn kept it going on Tuesday versus Wofford. The Tigers scored 53 points in the second half on the way to a blowout win 93-62. Elijah Freeman topped the team this time with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Keyshawn Hall doubled up on 20 points with 11 rebounds and six assists over 27 minutes in the winning effort for the Tigers.

I’ll stick with Houston. This should be a pretty fun matchup if both teams play well though, and it’ll be one of the highlights of the Sunday slate. The Cougars shot fairly well (45.1 percent) in their win over Oakland this past week but they were more impressive up front with a 41-24 rebounding edge and a 40-20 advantage in the paint alongside just six turnovers. Houston has held opponents to fewer than 58 points in all three games so far, but to be fair they haven’t played any potentially dangerous teams yet.

As for Auburn, they’ve recovered well after the opener scare versus Bethune-Cookman and drilled Wofford in their last game. The Tigers have notched a whopping 93 points in each outing thus far, so we could see a real shootout here if things get going. This will be a fun matchup to watch regardless.
