Gonzaga Bulldogs Betting Preview
The Bulldogs have had a couple of pretty brief spotty runs so far this year, but overall they’re not doing too badly. Gonzaga opened on a 9-4 run with wins over Baylor, Arizona State, UMass Lowell, San Diego State, Long Beach State, Indiana, Davidson, Nicholls, and Bucknell. After wins over Pepperdine, Portland, LMU, San Diego, and Washington State, the Bulldogs fell to Oregon State and Santa Clara. Since then it’s been a 6-1 run with a lone loss to Saint Mary’s. Otherwise, Gonzaga has taken out Portland, Oregon State, LMU, Pacific, San Francisco, and Pepperdine in that time, giving the Bulldogs a 20-7 overall run through 27 games this year.Â
In the Pepperdine home rematch on Saturday, the Bulldogs didn’t have too many issues. Gonzaga opened on a 55-26 stretch in the first half, then hit a 52-29 run the rest of the way for a 107-55 victory in blowout fashion. Khalif Battle led the team with his 24 points, five rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes of work on the floor. Nolan Hickman added 18 points with seven assists and three boards, while both Braden Huff and Michael Ajayi had 10 bench points each during the victory.Â
Washington State Cougars Betting Preview
Over on the Washington State side, they were looking pretty good back in early January but they’ve fallen on hard times amid some tough matchups since then. The Cougars opened on a solid 13-3 run, taking out Portland State, Bradley, Idaho, Northern Colorado, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Nevada, Boise State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Portland, LMU, and San Francisco in that time. Since then, however, Washington State has gone just 3-8 in their last 11 outings. The wins have come over San Diego, Portland, and Pepperdine. Otherwise, it’s been losses to Pacific, Gonzaga, Santa Clara, Saint Mary’s, Pacific, San Francisco, Oregon State, and Saint Mary’s in succession. That gives the Cougars a 16-11 overall run this year.Â
In the Saint Mary’s road rematch over the weekend, the Cougars held a four-point deficit by the break. Washington State didn’t end up getting any closer than that on a 39-22 second-half run and took the blowout loss at the end 77-56. Leading the team in scoring was LeJuan Watts with 17 points, four assists, and one block. Isaiah Watts added 12 points with six boards and three assists. Ethan Price was also in double-figures with 11 points and five rebounds.Â

Gonzaga vs Washington State PredictionÂ
I might take a stab at Washington State. The Cougars will be happy to get back home here, as they’ve played seven of their last 10 games on the road. Their latest defeat away from home came courtesy of Saint Mary’s, as Washington State coughed up 16 turnovers for 22 Gaels points and shot just 40.7 percent from the field in that one. The good news is that the Cougars are scoring pretty well lately with 68 or more points in four of the last six games. The bad news is that they’re giving up a ton on the other side.Â
Washington State fell 88-75 on the road the last time these teams met up back on January 11. The Cougars shot well (53.3 percent) in that one but also gave up 16 turnovers for 20 Bulldogs points. I like Washington State to play a lot better in the home rematch—well enough to eke out a cover, anyway.Â
