Fordham Rams Betting Preview
Fordham has a couple of good runs in the books this year but overall it’s been a bumpy campaign. The Rams lost five of their first eight games, beating only Seton Hall, Binghamton, and Georgian Court in that time. Fordham would then hit a winning streak over New Hampshire, Fairleigh Dickinson, Maine, Bryant, and Albany, then they hit the skids with losses to Saint Louis, St. Bonaventure, VCU, Davidson, UMass, and Loyola. Since then it’s been a 3-3 run over the last six games with wins over Duquesne, La Salle, and Rhode Island. The losses otherwise came versus St. Bonaventure, Dayton, and Richmond at that time. That gives the Rams an overall record of 11-14 through 25 games this year so far.Â
In the Richmond matchup on Saturday, the Rams came out of the locker room sporting a 27-26 deficit. Fordham didn’t end up getting any closer than that on a 43-40 second half and lost 70-66 in the end. Leading the way in the losing effort was Japhet Medor with 24 points and six rebounds. Jackie Johnson added 15 points with three rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Joshua Rivera led the bench scoring on 13 points with two rebounds in 29 minutes.Â
Duquesne Dukes Betting Preview
Over on the Duquesne side, they had a nice run going in December and January but other than that it’s been a struggle this year. The Dukes lost eight of their first 10 games versus Lipscomb, Princeton, DePaul, Milwaukee, South Dakota State, Hampton, Saint Peter’s, and Maine. A 7-1 run came next with wins over Towson, UC Irvine, Cleary U, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph’s, George Washington, and Saint Bonaventure. Since then it’s been a 1-6 run with a lone win over Loyola among losses to Dayton, Fordham, Saint Joseph’s, UMass, Richmond, and Dayton again, giving the Dukes a 10-15 record through 25 games this season.Â
In their road rematch versus Dayton on Saturday, the Dukes were up 44-40 going into the second half. Duquesne was outpaced 37-32 the rest of the way however, resulting in a 77-76 loss in the end. Tre Dinkins led the team with 21 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Matus Hronsky added 16 points with two rebounds, while Jahseaon Corbett had 11 points with four rebounds and two steals to lead the bench players.Â

Fordham vs Duquesne PredictionÂ
I’ll take a stab at Duquesne here. Probably not touching this one in reality, though. The Dukes are coming off yet another loss on the road versus a pretty good Dayton team. In that one Duquesne shot well from the field (48.1 percent) and rebounded well (a 30-29 advantage) but missed eight of their 22 free throws (63.6 percent) and had 14 turnovers for 23 Flyers points. The Dukes are on an ugly 1-6 run right now but they’ve generally been competitive in most of the losses.Â
Duquesne took a 65-63 road loss to Fordham the last time these teams met up back on January 26. The Dukes were outmuscled on the boards 41-27 in that one and had 12 turnovers. It’s going to take some cleanup but I think Duquesne can be competitive in the home rematch.Â
