DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview
DePaul opened up their season on a great run, taking wins in each of their first seven games. Those victories came versus Southern Indiana, Prairie View, Mercer, Duquesne, Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois, and Valparaiso in succession. Since then it’s been a rough 2-6 stretch over the last eight games, though. The only wins in that time have come versus Wichita State and Loyola Maryland. Otherwise, it’s been losses against Texas Tech, Providence, St. John’s, Northwestern, UConn, and Villanova for a 9-6 run so far this season.
In the Villanova game on Saturday, the Blue Demons came out of halftime sporting a 48-32 deficit. Things got even worse in the second half as DePaul was outscored 52-24 on the way to a 100-56 blowout loss. Leading the team in scoring was Jacob Meyer with 13 points and three rebounds alongside two assists and a pair of steals. Isaiah Rivera came off the bench for 11 points in 20 minutes of work, and NJ Benson chipped in 10 points with six boards.
Seton Hall Pirates Betting Preview
Over on the Seton Hall side, they managed to stay (just) above .500 over their first nine games of the season but they’ve hit the skids since then. The Pirates beat Saint Peter’s, Wagner, VCU, Florida Atlantic, and NJIT in those first nine games, otherwise falling versus Fordham, Hofstra, Vanderbilt, and Monmouth. Seton Hall has lost five straight since then, dropping to Oklahoma State, Rutgers, Villanova, Georgetown, and Xavier for a 5-9 overall record this year.
Matched up against Xavier on New Year’s Eve, the Pirates came out of the break looking up at a 44-31 deficit on the scoreboard. Seton Hall didn’t end up getting any closer than that, posting a 50-41 second-half deficit on the way to a loss of 94-72. Tops in scoring was Isaiah Coleman with 19 points, five boards, three assists, and two steals. He was the only starter in double-figures, but Scotty Middleton came off the bench for 12 points and four rebounds in 27 minutes. Chaunce Jenkins chipped in 11 points with four assists and two blocks as well.

DePaul vs Seton Hall Prediction
I’ll stay with DePaul I suppose. Probably staying away from this one, though. The Blue Demons were blitzed by a pretty good Villanova team in their last outing, shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor while allowing 59.7 percent on the other side along with 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from 3-point range. The 42-32 rebounding deficit and 12 rebounds for 19 Villanova points didn’t help either. During this ugly 2-6 stretch, the Blue Demons have been below 69 points in every loss while giving up 70 or more points on the other side in all six as well.
As for Seton Hall, there’s not much to say about their blowout loss to Xavier either. The Pirates hit just 37.7 percent from the floor and had 14 turnovers for 18 Musketeers points. Seton Hall has fared slightly better during this five-game losing streak with 67 or more points in four of those, but they’re giving up a lot on the other side as well. I would like DePaul to eke one out, but this isn’t the one I’m messing with.
