Jacksonville State gave up 49.1 percent shooting on defense however, and got out-rebounded 32-26. That makes four straight losses for the Gamecocks, but they’ve been fairly competitive during that time.

Back on January 2 when these teams last saw each other the Gamecocks took a 67-64 victory on the road. In that one Jacksonville State shot 47.7 percent from the field with a 31-23 rebounding edge and just nine turnovers. The free throw shooting (18-of-26 for 69.2 percent) was just okay, though.
