Rhode Island Rams Betting Preview
This year the Rams opened up their season on a very nice run, but things have been pretty choppy since then. Rhode Island hit a 9-0 stretch out of the gate, taking out Fairfield, Holy Cross, Franklin Pierce, Lafayette, Charleston, Detroit, Texas Arlington, Yale, and Providence in that time. Since then the Rams have hit a 3-3 stretch, however. The losses in that time came versus Brown, Duquesne, and George Washington. Otherwise, it was wins over Central Connecticut, Temple, and George Mason for a 12-3 record through 15 outings so far this year.
In the George Washington matchup on Wednesday, the Rams were looking quite rough after the first half, rolling to a 38-30 deficit. Rhode Island kept the pace from there on a 37-37 run and eventually took the loss 75-67. Leading the team in scoring was Sebastian Thomas with 20 points, six boards, three steals, and three assists. Quentin Diboundje added 14 points with seven boards and one assist off the bench, while Jaden House had 10 points with five rebounds in 28 minutes as the second-highest bench scorer in the defeat.
Richmond Spiders Betting Preview
Over on the Richmond side, they’ve had quite the choppy season so far and haven’t been able to keep their heads above the .500 mark on the year. The Spiders lost three of their first four games, falling to Marist, Charlotte, and Bucknell after an opener victory versus Mount Olive. The Spiders hit a 3-1 stretch after that with wins over Maine, Florida Tech, and Ball State alongside a loss to Louisiana Tech. Since then it’s been a 3-5 stretch over the last eight games. Richmond has wins over VMI, George Washington, and UMass in that time, with losses versus Auburn, Belmont, William & Mary, Florida Gulf Coast, and George Mason otherwise.
In Wednesday’s game versus George Mason, the Spiders held a 32-28 advantage in the locker room after the first half. Richmond was outpaced from there 36-26 unfortunately, resulting in a 64-58 defeat in the end. The Spiders’ Dusan Neskovic posted 16 points with two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the defeat. Apostolos Roumoglou was the only other team player in double-figures with 11 points, two rebounds, two steals, and three assists to his credit.

Rhode Island vs Richmond Prediction
I’ll stay with Rhode Island here. The Rams will need a livelier performance than they got versus George Washington (admittedly a pretty good team) in their last outing, though. Rhode Island hit a tepid 40 percent from the field in that one with just 2-of-15 (13.3 percent) from 3-point range. The Rams had a 44-37 rebounding edge but also gave up 15 turnovers for 18 George Washington points. During this current 1-2 stretch, the Rams have finished below 68 points in both losses, so it’d be nice to see Rhode Island post a 70-plus points total here.
As for Richmond, they were blitzed on the boards 38-21 (13-4 offensive) in their latest loss to George Mason. The Spiders played pretty good defense (38.6 percent shooting allowed) in that one, though. That makes fewer than 59 points in each of the Spiders’ last two losses, so they’ll need to get the shooting percentage up in order to compete here.
