Holy Cross Crusaders Betting Preview
The Crusaders’ season started out on a spotty 5-5 run through their first five games, but things have gone much better since then. Holy Cross lost to Wisconsin and Rhode Island in their first pair before wins over Sacred Heart, Brown, New Hampshire, and Mitchell College. The next four games were a 1-3 stretch with a lone win over Harvard around losses to Maine, Virginia, and Central Connecticut State. Following a four-game win streak over Quinnipiac, Siena, Regis and Loyola Maryland, Holy Cross took a loss to American before another win over Navy.
In the Navy game on Wednesday, the Crusaders went into the second half with a 38-30 edge. Holy Cross kept the Midshipmen at bay on a 32-29 run from there and took the eventual 70-59 victory. Leading the team in scoring was Joe Nugent with 21 points and nine rebounds. Caleb Kenney added 18 points with eight rebounds and four assists alongside one steal and one block. Both Kahlil Singleton and Jaden Kirkwood posted five points apiece off the bench.
Lafayette Leopards Betting Preview
Over on the Lafayette side, they had a pretty good run going in late November/early December but otherwise, it’s been a struggle this season. The Leopards lost four of their first five games, beating Pennsylvania with losses otherwise to Villanova, La Salle, Cornell, and Rhode Island. A 4-1 stretch came after that with a loss to Binghamton among wins over Rosemont, Long Island University, Niagara, and Mercyhurst. Since then it’s been a 1-5 run with a win over Boston U and losses versus George Washington, Portland, Stonehill, Navy, and Bucknell during that span for a 6-10 overall record so far this season.
In the Bucknell matchup back on Wednesday, the Leopards were trailing by six points at the break. Lafayette fought back from there to force overtime but eventually lost a tough one 65-62. Tops in scoring was Andrew Phillips with 16 points and seven rebounds. Justin Vander Baan added 14 points with 10 boards, five blocks and three assists. Alex Chaikin put up 13 points with three rebounds as well, while Caleb Williams chipped in 11 points and seven boards.

Holy Cross vs Lafayette Prediction
I’ll stick with Holy Cross. The Crusaders took care of a struggling Navy team pretty well in their last outing, shooting a nice 53.7 percent from the field with 50 percent (10-of-20) from 3-point range and 35 rebounds. The 14 turnovers for 16 Midshipmen points could stand to be cleaned up, though. Outside of their loss to American last Sunday, the Crusaders are playing pretty well right now. Holy Cross has scored 70 or more points in five of the last six games—with all five of those games being wins.
As for Lafayette, their latest loss to Bucknell is going to sting for a while. The Leopards shot 42.6 percent from the field in that one but only 17.6 percent (3-of-17) from 3-point range and 7-of-13 (53.8 percent) from the line. The rebounding (39) was good though. Lafayette has given up 70 or more points in six of the last eight games now, so Holy Cross should have plenty of scoring opportunities on Saturday.
