Alabama A&M Bulldogs Betting Preview
This year the Bulldogs opened up on a nice run but there’s been very little to be happy about since then. Alabama A&M took out Oakwood, Arkansas Baptist, and Fisk in their first three games, then took losses to Tennessee State, Georgia, and South Carolina State before another win over Coastal Carolina. A losing streak versus IUPUI, Lipscomb, Chattanooga, UAB, Samford, and Georgia Tech came after that. In their last pair, Alabama A&M has taken wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State for a 6-9 overall record so far this year.
In the MS Valley State matchup on Monday, Alabama A&M hit a 38-28 advantage in the first half. The Bulldogs posted a 41-39 run the rest of the way, powering out the eventual win 79-67 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Lorenzo Downey with 13 points and nine rebounds. Darius Ford came off the bench for 11 points and two rebounds, and AC Bryant also finished in double-figures with 10 points, seven boards, and five assists in 28 minutes.
Alcorn State Braves Betting Preview
Over on the Alcorn State side, they’ve had zero luck in the win column so far this year, but to be fair the Braves have stayed competitive in a handful of games. Alcorn State’s ugly 0-14 record thus far has contained losses versus Utah, Utah State, Xavier LA, Tulane, TCU, Washington, UC Riverside, South Alabama, Maryland, Wichita State, Oklahoma, Rice, UAB, and Jackson State in succession over the first two months of the season.
In the Jackson State matchup last weekend, the Braves played in one of those aforementioned close games. Alcorn State was down 35-26 by halftime but made a great effort in the second half on a 43-37 run for a 72-69 loss in the end. Marcus Tankersley led the team with 25 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Also in double-figures was Djahi Binet with 10 points and six rebounds alongside one steal in 28 minutes of work. Davian Williams chipped in with nine points off the bench in 19 minutes on the floor.

Alabama A&M vs Alcorn State Prediction
I’ll stick with Alabama A&M. Probably not touching this one, though. There’s not a lot to get excited about here. The Bulldogs played pretty well against MS Valley State in their latest win, notching 45.5 percent shooting from the field and a nice 49-26 rebounding edge. There’s plenty to clean up from that one, though: Alabama A&M missed five of 17 free throws (70.6 percent) and had 18 turnovers for 21 Devils points. The Bulldogs have scored well lately, with 79 or more points in three of the last four games (a 2-2 run).
As for Alcorn State, you almost have to root for them to get that first win at some point. The Bulldogs pulled off a valiant effort in the second half against Jackson State on 50 percent shooting and 33 rebounds but fell just short in the comeback effort. Alcorn State has 69 or more points in four straight and could very well hang around in this one.
