William & Mary Tribe Betting Preview
The Tribe’s season got off to a pretty mediocre 3-3 start through their first six games. William & Mary beat Dickinson PA, Norfolk State, and Georgia Southern during that time. Otherwise, it was losses to Radford, Winthrop, and North Carolina Central. Following losses to NC State, App State, and Old Dominion over the next three games, the Tribe recovered with a 3-1 stretch. Outside of a loss to VCU, William & Mary dispatched Virginia-Lynchburg, Richmond, and Navy during that quartet for a 6-7 overall record through their first 13 games of the season.
Matched up against Hofstra on Thursday, the Tribe didn’t have too many issues during a nice effort. William & Mary came out of the gate with a 48-27 run in the first half, then closed on 26 more points in an eventual win 74-56. Tops in scoring was Matteus Case, who came off the bench to contribute 15 points with two rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes of work. Leading the starters was Noach Collier with 12 options and eight boards, while Kyle Frazier added 12 bench points and two rebounds. Chase Lowe chipped in with 11 points as well.
Stony Brook Seawolves Betting Preview
Over on the Stony Brook side, they also had a pretty mediocre start this year with a 2-2 stretch over their first four outings. The Seawolves beat Central Michigan and Saint Joseph’s Long Island at that time but otherwise lost to Marquette and George Mason. A stretch of losses to Yale, Columbia, Brown, Norfolk State, and Air Force followed afterward. Stony Brook would go 2-2 over the next four games with wins over Rider and Maine. The losses otherwise during that quartet came courtesy of Marist and Albany for a 4-9 opening run for the Seawolves.
In their game versus Monmouth on Thursday, the Seawolves continued their skid. Following a 37-25 halftime deficit, Stony Brook didn’t end up getting any closer in the second on a 41-31 run during an eventual 78-56 blowout defeat. Leading the team in the losing effort was Joe Octave with 15 points and five rebounds. The only other player on the team in double-figures was Nick Woodard, who came off the bench to contribute 12 points and four rebounds in 21 minutes of action. CJ Luster chipped in with seven points and two rebounds as well.

William & Mary vs Stony Brook Prediction
I’ll lean toward William & Mary. The Tribe took care of a decent Hofstra team quite well in their last outing, shooting an excellent 52.9 percent from the field with 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from 3-point range and a 38-24 rebounding edge. If there were blemishes on the stat sheet, it was with the 13 turnovers (for 12 Pride points) and the 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) from the line. During this 4-1 stretch, William & Mary has posted 70 or more points in all five games and 74 or more in each victory.
As for Stony Brook, they looked pretty bad against a 3-11 Monmouth team this week. The Seawolves shot just 32.8 percent from the field and 15 percent (3-of-20) from outside in the blowout defeat. Stony Brook has been below 67 points in seven of the last 10 games, so if William & Mary can hit the 70-point mark or so here, the Tribe will be fine.
