The Mastodons put up a 5-4 record in their first nine games, falling to UCF, Penn State, Radford, and Detroit along the way. Fort Wayne has since won four straight over Robert Morris, IUPUI, Eastern Michigan, and Defiance.

I’ll take a stab at the Mastodons here. Fort Wayne didn’t have any issues versus an overmatched Defiance team on Friday, hitting a nice 52.6 percent from the field with zero turnovers to the Yellow Jackets’ 25 (resulting in a whopping 36 Mastodons points). Fort Wayne has scored 77 or more points in six straight games now, a 5-1 run.

As for Michigan, they shot well from the floor (46.9 percent) in the Oklahoma loss, but only went a dismal 4-of-28 (14.3 percent) from 3-point range. The Wolverines have hit 85 or more points in three straight games themselves, doing it against some pretty good competition along the way. That said, if Fort Wayne can keep that shooting percentage up (especially from outside) I think the Mastodons have a decent cover shot.
