Cal State Northridge Matadors Betting Preview
The Matadors lost to St. Bonaventure in their opener, then rattled off wins over Le Moyne, Nobel, Sacramento State, Utah Tech, and Denver. It’s been losses to Montana and UC Riverside around a win over Montana State in the three games since.
In the UC Riverside matchup on Thursday, the Matadors were up by four at halftime. CSU Northridge was outscored 37-29 from there, however, and lost 68-64. Scotty Washington was tops on the team with 23 points and four boards.
Cal Poly Mustangs Betting Preview
Over on the Cal Poly side, they went 3-2 over their first five with wins over Melo, Seattle U, and Eastern Washington. It’s been an opposite 2-3 stretch since then with losses to Arizona State, Saint Mary’s, and UC Davis, though.
Matched up against UC Davis in their Thursday outing, the Mustangs held a one-point lead by the break. After getting outscored 47-35 the rest of the way, UC Davis had a 77-66 loss. Owen Koonce was the only team player in double-digits with 19 points.

CSU Northridge vs Cal Poly Prediction
I’ll lean toward Cal Poly, but you'll obviously be able to call this one either way. The Mustangs had a 43-31 rebounding advantage and shot 41.4 percent against UC Davis in their latest outing. The whopping 33 turnovers in a sloppy overall game (54 total turnovers) did the Mustangs in, however. Cal Poly had scored 73 or more points in eight of their previous nine games though, so they’re certainly capable of significant totals.
As for CSU Northridge, they committed 18 turnovers in their last outing, leading to 18 Highlanders points in the four-point defeat. The Matadors had posted 69 or more points in seven straight games before that. This one seems pretty close to a coin flip for me, but I’m still leaning slightly toward the Mustangs.
