The Wildcats managed a 3-1 record over their first quarter this year, beating Howard Payne, McMurry, and Texas State in that time. It’s been a 1-2 stretch since then with a win over Southern Miss between losses to Kennesaw State and Montana State.

I’ll stay with the Wildcats. Abilene Christian has a major bounce-back to make after a dud versus Montana State, however. The Wildcats coughed up 58 percent shooting from the field and 65.4 percent from outside alongside a 32-22 rebounding deficit for a poor defensive effort in that one. Still, it was only the second time all year that Abilene Christian has finished below 72 points.
As for Omaha, they managed to keep a lid on Lamar in their last matchup to stop a five-game skid. The Mavericks had given up 79 or more points in four straight prior to that game, however, so Abilene Christian should have ample open looks on Saturday.
