Montreal Alouettes Betting Preview

The Montreal Alouettes are 6-1 this season after they defeated the Tiger-Cats by a score of 31-18 last week. Montreal led 10-8 at halftime, but they trailed 18-17 after the third, before they scored 14 points in the fourth for the win. Prior to that game, Montreal defeated the Stampeders by a score of 38-32 and defeated the Stampeders again by a score of 37-30, and they are currently first in the East Division. The Alouettes have scored 34.1 points per game with 339.3 passing yards and 113.6 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 29.1 points against per game this season. Ottawa Redblacks Betting Preview

The Ottawa Redblacks are 0-6 this year after they lost to the Blue Bombers by a score of 36-34 in week seven. Ottawa led 19-9 at halftime and 26-9 in the fourth quarter, but they allowed 17 points in the fourth and lost in overtime. The Redblacks out gained Winnipeg by a total of 420-367, went 12-27 on second downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 2-1 in the game. Jake Maier threw for 344 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Kalil Pimpleton caught five passes for 101 yards. Greg Bell rushed 14 times for 65 yards in the game.

Prior to that loss, Ottawa lost to the Elks by a score of 40-17 and lost to the Roughriders by a score of 27-22, and they are currently last in the East Division. The Redblacks have scored 25.5 points per game with 291.0 passing yards and 63.2 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 35.5 points against per game this season. Jake Maier has thrown for 1,716 yards, eight touchdowns, and eight interceptions, while Ayden Eberhardt has 33 receptions for 469 yards and two scores. Greg Bell has rushed 50 times for 198 yards this year.

Alouettes vs Redblacks Prediction

Montreal comes into this matchup on a four game winning streak, but only two of those wins came by at least seven points. The Alouettes have scored 29+ points in five straight games, but they have allowed at least 30 points in four of those five. Ottawa is still looking for their first win, as they completely blew their last game in the fourth quarter. The Redblacks have allowed 36+ points in four of their last five games, but did battle Montreal very hard a few weeks ago. I don’t like the defense, but I am going to take Ottawa with the points here.

David Racey's Pick: Redblacks +6.5
