I am not sold on this Texas Southern defense, and it’s going get out of hand early. By halftime, California is going to be close to covering the spread, and it’s going to get even uglier in the second half. This is one of my favorite plays of the weekend. Strong Start to the Season for Cal
It was such a strong start to the season for California, and they were able to secure the 34-15 victory over Oregon State. At the end of the first quarter, they were up 14-0, and they never looked back on the way to the victory. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele and he completed 20 of his 30 passes for 234 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. It feels like he could be a Heisman Trophy darkhorse.
Trond Grizzell finished with five carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. Even though they played well, California’s defense wasn’t great, especially against the pass. Maalik Murphy completed 21 of his 33 passes for 244 yards against them. After this game, California is going to stay at home, and they will face off against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
