The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs meet in week 7 college football action from Joe Aillet Stadium on Thursday night. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Middle Tennessee vs. Louisiana Tech prediction.
Middle Tennessee Recap
The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders come into this one looking to snap a four-game losing streak after a 24-7 loss to the Memphis Tigers last time out, falling to 1-4 on the year prior to their bye week last week. After this game, Middle Tennessee will head home for a matchup with Kennesaw State.
Blue Raiders Looking For Stops Of Any Kind
Nicholas Vattiato has thrown for 1,285 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions on 65.6% passing while Jaiden Credle has a team-high 233 rushing yards and 2 TDs. Omari Kelly leads the Blue Raiders with 24 receptions for 471 yards and 3 touchdowns while Holden Willis has 20 receptions for 320 yards. Myles Butler and Cam’ron Lacy each have 100+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, John Howse IV has a team-high 30 total tackles along with a pair of interceptions while Middle Tennessee’s defense as a whole has combined for 8 sacks this season.
Louisiana Tech Recap
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs come into this one looking to snap a three-game losing streak of their own prior to their bye week last week, taking one on the chin after a 17-10 loss to FIU last time out. After this game, LA Tech will head out on the road for a game against New Mexico State.
Bulldogs Looking For Spark Offensively
Jack Turner has thrown for 392 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions on 51.7% passing while Blake Baker has thrown for 314 yards, a touchdown, and 3 INTs on 52.9% passing and Evan Bullock’s thrown for 267 yards and a touchdown on 69.8% passing. Donerio Davenport has a team-high 107 rushing yards to lead LA Tech’s ground attack while Tru Edwards has a team-high 17 grabs for 208 yards and a TD. Three more Bulldog receivers have 100+ receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Zach Zimos has a team-high 35 total tackles. As a unit, Louisiana Tech’s defense has combined for 10 sacks and an interception as well on the year.
Middle Tennessee vs. Louisiana Tech Prediction
I’m leaning towards Louisiana Tech here. The Bulldogs may be rolling a QB by-committee system, but they can still move the ball through the air and Middle Tennessee has the worst pass defense in the country. The Blue Raiders have a decent offense, but LA Tech’s defense is more trustworthy, and it doesn’t help you when you have a decent offense but have a defense that can’t stop a nosebleed. Give me the Bulldogs.
