Boise State scored four touchdowns in the first half, but they didn’t play the best defense, as they led 28-16 at the half. The Broncos trailed 30-28 about halfway through the third quarter, but they scored 28 of the next 35 points to pull away for the win. Boise State outgained Georgia Southern by a total of 651-461 and each team turned the ball over one time in the game. The Broncos went 7-11 on third down, but they were 0-2 on fourth down. Maddux Madsen threw for 280 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Ashton Jeanty rushed for 267 yards and six scores. 

Boise State was able to flex its muscles on the offensive side of the ball in their first game, but the defense was not great, which is a huge concern against this Oregon offense. Ashton Jeanty looked very good on the ground for the Broncos, but can he find that success against the Ducks? 

Oregon Ducks Betting Preview

The Oregon Ducks are 1-0 this year after they defeated Idaho by a score of 24-14 in their first game. Oregon only managed two scores in the first half, and they led 14-0 at the half. Idaho scored the only points in the third quarter and they cut the deficit to 17-14 in the fourth, before Oregon scored to pull away. Oregon outgained Idaho by a total of 487-217, but they were just 7-16 on third down and 1-3 on fourth down. Dillon Gabriel completed 41 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns, while Jordan James rushed for 95 yards and two scores on 15 carries. 

Oregon came into their first game as massive favorites, but they had a ton of issues and nearly lost to their FCS opponent. Oregon’s offense should be electric this season and I think their low output against Idaho is just a one-off situation. Oregon will face Oregon State following this game.

Boise State vs Oregon Prediction 

Oregon comes into this matchup as nearly a three-touchdown favorite, but they need to play much better on the offensive side of the ball if they want to compete in this game. We saw Boise State score a ton of points in their first game and while I don’t think they will have as much success here, they will still find more than a few scoring drives. I do think Oregon will get the offense going in this game, especially after watching Georgia Southern score on Boise State, and I think we are going to see plenty of points. Take the over here.
