UTSA Roadrunners Betting Preview
The Roadrunners limped to a 3-5 start this year, beating only Kennesaw State, Houston Christian, and Florida Atlantic in that time. UTSA would hit a three-game win streak over Memphis, North Texas, and Temple before a regular-season finale loss to Army, though.
In the Army game on November 30, the Roadrunners were up 17-16 going into the final quarter but eventually lost a tough one 29-24. QB Owen McCown threw for 207 yards with one score and two picks. Brandon High led the rushers with 61 yards and two scores off 16 carries. Devin McCuin added three catches for 82 yards and a TD.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Betting Preview
Over on the Coastal Carolina side, they beat Jacksonville State, William & Mary, Temple, and Old Dominion in their first five games. The Chanticleers lost to James Madison, Louisiana, Troy, Marshall, and Georgia Southern during a season-ending 2-5 skid after that, though.
In their last matchup November 30 versus Georgia State, the Chanticleers came out of the break with a 17-10 edge. Coastal Carolina scored another 31 points from there in a nice 48-27 win. Ethan Vasko threw for an even 200 yards, three scores, and an interception with one rush TD. Leading rusher Christian Washington added 20 carries for 124 yards and a score of his own.

Coastal Carolina vs UTSA Prediction
I’ll take a stab at UTSA, but I'd much rather have a single-digit line. The Roadrunners played quite well versus a very dangerous Army team in their regular-season finale. UTSA held the Knights to a relatively low 207 rushing yards but couldn’t quite overcome the three turnovers from their own offense. That said, the Roadrunners had posted 38 or more points in five straight games prior to that (a 4-1 run), so it seems they finally found their offensive groove late in the season.
As for Coastal Carolina, they dropped 475 yards and 27 first downs on Georgia State in their latest outing, going a nice 10-of-15 on third-down tries. The Chanticleers have been giving up a ton of points during this 2-5 stretch: 24 or more in all seven games. UTSA should have plenty of room to stretch their legs offensively, so if the Roadrunners can cut down on the mistakes and play average defense here I think the cover is well within reach.
