Back on Saturday versus Arizona, the Sun Devils had very few issues. Arizona State was up 35-0 by halftime and cruised to the 49-7 blowout win. Sam Leavitt threw for 291 yards and three scores. Cam Skattebo was the top rusher on 21 carries for 177 yards and three TDs of his own.

I’ll stick with Arizona State in this one. The Sun Devils had an easy time in their latest win over in-state rival Arizona. In that one, Arizona State posted 24 first downs with a whopping 646 total yards (284 rushing) and just 210 yards (84 rushing) allowed on the other side. That makes 28 or more points scored in four of the last five games (all wins) with the lone exception being 24 points versus Kansas State in a 10-point victory.

As for Iowa State, they’ll make for a formidable championship game opponent here. The Cyclones hung 22 first downs and 324 yards (187 rushing) on a good Kansas State team in their last outing. Iowa State has hit 29 or more points in four straight games themselves, going 3-1 in that time. All things considered I like Arizona State to lean heavily on the run here, similar to what Kansas did in their upset win over the Cyclones on November 9 (237 rush yards). If the Sun Devils can find some success on the ground and keep the Iowa State offense off the field I can see an Arizona State cover here. Should be a fun matchup no matter what happens.
