Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview
Stanford won just two of their first nine games, falling to TCU, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, SMU, Wake Forest, and NC State otherwise. The Cardinal finally broke their losing streak with a 38-35 win over Louisville on November 16.
Matched up against Cal on Saturday, Stanford held a 21-10 edge going into the final quarter. The Cardinal were outscored 14-0 from there, however, and lost 24-21. Ashton Daniels threw for 139 yards while also leading the rush on 21 totes for 63 yards.

Over on the San Jose State side, they went 4-1 over their first five outings with wins over Sacramento State, Kennesaw State, Air Force, and Nevada. It’s been a 2-4 run since then with losses to Colorado State, Fresno State, Boise State, and UNLV.
Last Friday versus UNLV, the Spartans held a six-point halftime lead. San Jose State gave up 17 unanswered second-half points though, losing 27-16 in the end. Walker Eget threw for 81 yards and a score on just four completions. Floyd Chalk led the rush with 56 yards on 18 carries.

Stanford vs San Jose State Prediction
I’ll lean toward San Jose State. Probably not touching this one, though. The Spartans had a lead on a good UNLV team with a flurry of points in the second quarter Friday but quickly came back to earthy. SJSU finished with just 112 total yards (81 passing), nine first downs, and a 3-of-12 success rate on third-down conversions. The Spartans have lost three of their last four, but to be fair they’ve played some tough competition during that time.
As for Stanford, on Saturday they had the game in hand after three quarters then lost the handle in the fourth. The Cardinal would finish with 259 yards (141 passing), 3.8 yards per play, 14 first downs, and a measly 5-of-15 success rate on third downs. Stanford has scored pretty well lately with 21 or more points in four straight. The Cardinal have given up 24 or more points in each game during that same span, however. SJSU should have ample opportunities offensively here.
