North Texas Mean Green Betting Preview
The Mean Green only lost one of their first six games (to Texas Tech); otherwise, it was wins over South Alabama, Stephen F. Austin, Wyoming, Tulsa, and FAU. Next came losses to Memphis and Tulane, however.
In Saturday’s game versus Army, the Mean Green mustered a field goal in the first quarter then got blanked in a 14-3 loss. Chandler Morris posted 214 yards and a pair of picks. Shane Porter led a tepid rush with six carries for only 33 yards. Damon Ward caught four balls for 63 yards to top the receivers.

North Texas vs UTSA Prediction
I’m going to stay with UTSA. The Roadrunners are getting plenty of rest and prep after their solid win over a good Memphis team. UTSA gave up 516 yards (454 passing) and 27 first downs in that one, but also came up with two takeaways and held the Tigers to just 4-of-13 on third downs. (The 12 Memphis penalties didn’t hurt either.) The Roadrunners have scored 38 or more points in three straight games now, but they’re also giving up quite a bit on the other side.
As for North Texas, on Saturday they were pummeled by the Army meat grinder. The Mean Green gave up 308 yards (293 rushing), 23 first downs, and 9-of-14 on third downs but did have a pair of takeaways. It’s tough to score when you hold the ball for just 18:15, though. North Texas should have some more opportunities this weekend but I don’t quite think they’ll cover/win.
