I’ll lean toward the Gamecocks. Jacksonville State did quite well on offense in their last outing versus New Mexico State, logging 530 total yards (334 rushing), 7.9 yards per play, and 28 first downs. On defense, the Gamecocks had three takeaways and gave up just 3-of-13 on third-down tries.

As for Middle Tennessee, they did well against a struggling Kennesaw State team in their last game, giving up 234 yards (103 passing) and 10 first downs. Jacksonville State will mark a significant uptick in competition, however, and I don’t quite think MTSU will keep pace.
